Photographers often get asked about giving out the unedited versions of their photos. For any professional photographer, this is a big no-no. Professional images are a work of art. It’s like asking a famous chef for his recipe. Chances are you wouldn’t be able to replicate the meal, but you would be attaching the chef’s name to it and possibly tarnishing his reputation.
When you hire a professional photographer, it is with the understanding that the you will receive a polished photo, ready to print. The copyright is retained by the photographer. Please respect their work by not doing your own edits and do not request the unedited versions just so you can save a dime by not paying for the editing (it doesn’t work that way). We are putting our business name out there and it’s only fair to represent our work accurately.
